About
Based in the regional city of Ballarat in Victoria’s Central Highlands, I am an Australian artist working primarily in oil paint.
Drawing on my local environment, I combine observed landscapes with imagined and reconstructed elements to create atmospheric scenes that hover between the familiar and the uncanny. Informed by Australian gothic sensibilities and subtle surrealist tendencies, my work explores place as both a physical and psychological terrain.
Through a considered use of shadow, light and colour, I seek to evoke quiet tension and melancholic beauty. Recurring themes of isolation and impermanence reflect moments where landscapes feel unsettled, transitional, or charged with an unseen presence.
Grounded in a background spanning visual art, graphic design, and multimedia, and supported by formal tertiary education, my practice is underpinned by strong technical discipline and compositional structure.
